When John Olin wanted to have title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he went to work and got it done. The Model 21 is an American icon and its reputation is well deserved. A strikingly handsome gun with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure. IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IT THE GUN. The Field Grade 16ga. is really hard to come by and this one is in beautiful condition. Most Model 21 guys are aware that a properly restored Model 21 is a very desirable, collectible, investment quality double gun. This factory documented gun, sn6012 built in 1941, is just such a gun with nicely figured factory wood. Most all of the Model 21 guns you see are with beavertail forends and single selective triggers and weigh over 7lbs. This gun is tight as new and with the unusual factory splinter forend weighs in at 6lbs. 7oz., a very light M21 indeed! Most classic double gunners prefer 2 triggers and that is very hard to find on a M21. This is a true field gun, with ejectors, double triggers, and splinter forend. There were only about 32,000 model 21's ever produced by Winchester and the 16 gauge guns are in strong demand. Finding one with 28" barrels and field chokes is much harder than finding the typical skeet choked gun, and this gun has good shooting dimensions to boot.
