FRENCH MODEL 1866 CHASSEPOT NEEDLE FIRE BREECH LOADING 11MM INFANTRY RIFLE. Single shot bolt action with 32” barrel. Probable test rifle with receiver engraved “EPREUVES/LES MANUFACTURES DE L’ETAT/ST. ETIENNE” and “COMMISSION DES ARMAMENT/COMMERCE 1870-71”. All matching, original and in very good plus condition. Needle still intact. Excellent stock with the original finish and nice inspector’s cartouche and excellent bore with crisp rifling.
