Rare Colt Model 1871-72 Open Top Revolver, .44 cal., with Colt Archive letter. Serial #267, shipped in 1872 to notable gun dealer J.P. Moores Sons of New York (photo of letter below). Very special example, with ~90% cylinder scene (Texas Navy battle scene), crisp and sharp markings incl. barrel, VG+ grips with about 80% varnish with some thinning in spots, and a VG+ bore that could be cleaned to even better. There are traces of blue in protected areas. Great specimen of a rare and special gun. I am a collector and not a dealer. I have owned this gun since 2003.
