BEAUTIFUL, HIGH CONDITION 1884 TRAPDOOR RIFLE, ONE OF THE LAST MADE IN 1892, SERIAL NUMBER 554XXX, sharp 1892 stock cartouche, gorgeous case colors on the breech block, Springfield was obviously using up parts at this rifle has seen almost no issue use yet has the earlier 1873 dated breech block, correct Buffington rear sight with correct last style cleaning rod, retains about all the deep inky blue/black coloring on the hammer and lock plate etc, exc. blue on the trigger guard, barrel bands, barrel and even the butt plate shows about all the blue with thinning on the toe and heel from being stood in a rack, exc. bright bore, about as nice as one could hope to find without being flat new/mint.
