Description:
This martially marked Sharps is serial #12xxx range with an M stamped on side of barrel near breech and the clear outline of a cartouche on backside under saddle ring. It is missing the tiny slide on rear sight which most are on this model. The bore is excellent. The markings on the lockplate and barrel are excellent. The metal is very smooth with blue mixed in with brown on the barrel. The buttstock has a piece of wood replaced at the toe that is about 2 1/2" by 1/2". There is a crack on the backside of the comb near the tang about 3 inches long. The metal is better than the wood as it shown some minor dings, scratches etc. from wear. The bottom of the forend has a crack from the breech to the brass ferrule. Email if you need more details.
