Wonderful Griffin and Howe Custom 7x57mm Mauser built on a pre-war Model 70. Superb condition overall, original finish throughout. Winchester's 24" barrel is retained, and it wears a later style folding rear sight and a Griffin and Howe style front sight hood on the original Winchester front sight ramp. There is also a Lyman 48 WJS rear sight base in place, with a Lyman slide blank installed. Winchester steel buttplate, and stock has Griffin's low comb style cheek piece with no monte carlo. Stock has Point pattern checkering, and an unengraved oval near the rear swivel, and a very slim forend. Super grade style sling swivels. Two panel checkered bolt, engine turned bolt body. Superb rust blue finish. Perfect bore. Has a modern Redfield one piece base wearing a Leupold 4x fixed scope with a Duplex reticle. A superb custom Model 70 by America's finest custom maker based on our finest production rifle. Modern optics in a great, versatile caliber. Thanks for your interest.
