Winchester 1886 40-65 Made in 1888. Nice attractive gun. Barrel is a replacement. It is a factory Winchester barrel, but it has a proof mark and this gun was made before Winchester started proof marking its barrels. The barrel has 95% of the original factory blue. The rest of the gun is mostly a smooth brown patina. The stock shows normal handling wear. The buttstock was chipped out at the toe during the period of use and the tang was bent over to repair it. It’s a neat fix that you really don’t see. Action works fine. Bore is very fine.
