A very clean Remington 1903 bolt action chambered for the potent .30-06 caliber, that was up-graded in the early war to arm our troops. these were the first guns to respond to the war effort! Commonly these guns were taken out of armory inventory , checked for wear, parts replaced if necessary and parkerized, tested and issued. This fine gun has a barrel date of RA 06-42. Action is very smooth.SN 3066237. Many of these Remington 1903's had seen service in both wars! What a workhorse~Wood commonly has a few field handling dings, and a faint FJA proof as well as a bunch of proofs, including a large S in front of the floor plate. The mag. is blued. Bore his very good with strong rifling, clean , shiny rifled! These fine weapons were issued to the Marine Corps as ship guard duty guns as well as used for the invasion of Pacific Islands.
