Description:
A Rev. War Brown Bess Marine Fusil with a 32" long barrel , and Bess lock that had the Crown over GR defaced as was common with captured weapons from tyrannical England! All metal parts have aged brown patina, and the barrel has splotches of aggressive pits mostly near the breech. Comes with sling swivels and the hammer works good and may have been replaced with a French re-enforced cock. The aged walnut wood is good with commonly found wartime usage dings and scrapes but is very solid. This gun ma have spent much of it's life below deck as they were used in climbing up in the rigging and raking the opponents deck with fire in the hopes of /hitting an Officer like the death of Admiral Lord Nelson in Battle of Trafalgar. A long rifle would be impossible to take aim while hanging onto rigging while the ship sways. The lock side plate has initials from an inspector and an anchor. This gun has looked into the tigers eye and seen much action and it shows through it's character. Comes with the tulip head shaped item ramrod. A gun this age may have had repairs but none are readily visible. We don’t have asite .I prefer money orders or a check. Item ships when funds come in. If you can only pay with a card let me know.
