Description:
For sale is this beautiful Colt 1860 Army Revolver - serial #49544 putting manufacture in 1862 - ALL numbers match including wedge and cylinder arbor. Pistol has inspection marks (GG) of Guert Gansevoort USN Cdr. On barrel and cylinder. Has a "S" on the trigger guard. Nice cartouched walnut grips. Solid lock up and excellent bright bore. Very solid gun. 
The holster is identified as being owned and used by Private, Lieutenant & Captain Walter G. Clark when he served in Company E, Virginia 4th Calvery. Complete, signed paperwork included with sale. Holster saw action at Seven Days Battles, Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Brandy Station, Gettysburg, Bristoe campaign, General Early's Valley Campaigns of 1864. Clark was wounded at the Battle of Cedar Creek on Oct. 19, 1864. It was on display in the Fort Hell Museum in Petersburg during the CW Centennial of 1861-1865 and was part of the famous James Anderson Collections of Va. Artifacts.
The pistol DID NOT belong to Capt. Clark.
