Unertl optical instruments are known to be among the best to be had and this spotting scope is an example; mistreated by the original owners family, I bought the scope minus the after-market front cover.which I added as soon as I found a machinist to do the fine work. The exterior of the scope, as you can see, is devoid of the textured Unertl finish in several places; but the scope eyepiece covers are present and the optics are still of quality Unertl clarity and the tripod works well off off the bench or on the ground.
