The 28” solid rib barrels have chokes that are marked WS-1 & WS-2 but they measure Cylinder & WS-2 (.012”), which are absolutely ideal for upland bird hunting. Standard single selective trigger. The rest of the gun is custom. Starting with the highly figured American walnut butt stock and forearm. The beavertail forearm is checkered in a traditional “kidney” pattern cut at 20 LPI. The butt stock is also cut at 20 LPI but done in a tasteful and complementary “carved” border pattern…albeit not a factory pattern but done very well; also the side panels are checkered similar to a high grade factory pattern. The receiver is nicely engraved with Winchester style floral motif incorporating nicely done game scenes. A “jumping” mallard on the left side, a ring neck pheasant on the right side, a pointing dog on the bottom and a woodcock on the trigger guard. The inside forearm iron, water table and barrel flats have been jeweled in Winchester fashion. The stock has a 14 ½” LOP over a Pachmayr presentation pad; 1 ½” DAC & 2 1/8” DAH with a very slight right hand cast. Weight is 6 lbs. 13 oz. The gun presents very well in spite of number of scratches in the butt stock. The metal finishes are all very good with just a slight indication of bottom edge fading on the frame and a small spot on the bottom of the right barrel at the muzzle where it appears to have been worked on to cure a spot of rust. Gun is tight, bores are bright and perfect. Great bird gun, beautiful 21! SOLD |
