Description:
Merkel Model 8 SxS Boxlock 12 Gauge. 28" with a tapered, matted, solid rib and a front brass beaded sight. The scalloped receiver with Greener crossbolt and double locking lumbs, features 2 3/4 inch chambers, extractors, double triggers, cocking indicators and side clips. The stocks are walnut and the butt sports a checkered pistol grip with a plastic cap, a raised cheekpiece, sling swivel and maker's checkered plastic plate. The checkered forend has a Deeley release lever that locks up tight. Metal condition: Save for some light surface rust on the right barrel, adjacent to the receiver and forend, the metal is excellent condition with blue/black bluing and strong colorful cased-colors. Wood condition: There are some light scratches here and there in the stocks, otherwise they are in excellent condition. The bore is in excellent, bright and shiny condition, and the breech face shows very little evidence that the shotgun was fired.
