This fine rifle is a ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CUSTOM MAUSER Made circa 1929. From the estate of Richard Roy of Branchville NJ. .....Roy Vail is stamped on the top of the barrel.
It is a 98 Mauser with a case colored receiver, Engraved with "A&F" also "Von Lengerke & Antoine". Beautiful hand cut engraving overall. A picture of a pronghorn on the floorplate. Scroll engraving all over the receiver and trigger guard. A wood inlay of a sheep in the stock. Hand cut machine turning on the bolt and bolt release. Caliber is ".30 U.S. Govt' (.30/40 Krag). Beautiful oil finished walnut stock. Custom butt plate and grip cap. Scope is a REDFIELD 2x7 in engraved rings. Bore is mint, operates fine. A truly fine custom rifle.
