Description:
Excellent Colt Single Action Army 3rd Generation In .44 Special manufactured 1979. Features standard markings, highly polished nickel plating, with 5 ½” barrel & custom fitted one piece grips. Condition is excellent with 99% of the original nickel plating remaining with some small light cylinder drag lines. Grips are very good with light handling wear & a couple hairline edge cracks on bottom. Comes with factory box with matching serial number, the “WS” in the “OPTIONS” field indicates it was shipped with smooth walnut grips which were standard on the Model P-1756 revolvers. Wilkerson’s “The Post-War Colt Single-Action Revolver, 1976-1986” lists the pre-1986 production total of this model at just 1,452. The box is in poor condition with torn missing end flaps & hand written added grip marking.
