Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co., this full, complete box bears the very collectable “Cartridge Picture” green label, which features an image of the cartridge with the legend “COLT .44” superimposed on the cartridge. The interior cartridge box is solid and holds all 50 rounds of the original cartridges, and all have the proper headstamp. Full boxes of the desirable .44 Colt caliber revolver cartridges. Introduced as a US Army cartridge in 1871 with the Colt Richards Conversion revolvers, the .44 Colt proved to be a durable cartridge through the late 1800’s and commercial loadings were still offered in the early 1900’s before it finally was declared obsolete.
