Decent bore, about a “6” and should clean to about a “7” with a bit of scrubbing. The exterior has light to medium pitting over all the iron surfaces and the wood has a small almost unnoticeable repair under the front barrel band and the rear barrel band has erroneously been installed in the reversed position and the wood slightly altered to accept that change. This could easily be put back so that the band spring would properly catch the pilot hole, but the wood will still show the change (see photo). Quite inexpensive for one of these handsome brass mounted and very accurate rifled muskets, and still worthy of being included in a modest martial longarms collection. Good+ to Very Good overall. $1450 SOLD Antique: Yes |
