Description:
A fine and original Savage Model 1899 Rifle chambered in 30-30 Winchester. Serial range 43xxx puts this rifle at 1904. The last patent date on the barrel is 1909 so it appears this rifle went back to the factory and had the barrel replaced some time after 1909. This rifle has the half octagon 26 inch barrel with its original sights including the original Marbles reciever peep sight. The rear sight is the original 2 leaf express and the front is a Marbles Sheard. The original stocks remain in good condition with no repairs or alterations of any kind. Crescent steel butt plate remains with some light surface pitting. Excellent bore with 98%+ original bright blue finish. Loaded chamber indicator on the bolt works like it should. Reciever blue has wear and turned plum. Nice original bluing in the trigger guard area and traces of case colors on the lever. A fine original Savage Model 1899 Rifle in the desirable 30-30 chambering with special sights and a half octagon barrel in the 43xxx serial range.
