Description:
SOLD. Tom Shelhamer 1903 sporting rifle in wonderful condition. Tom's best work rivals the best ever done in my humble opinion, and this is amongst his very best. His signature stamp is under the Niedner style (of course!) buttplate, and I photographed it below. This is a very simple, clean, 1903 .30-06 sporter in absolutely superb condition. Perfect bore. Very fine point checkering, and the lines of the stock can only be described as svelte. Forend is secured to the barell with a screw. Lyman 48 rear sight, and barrel banded beaded front. Front sight dovetailed blade is marked "D.W. KING". US Springfield action number is 1200xxx (you can probably see the exact number in the photos). This action is very trim in appearance, and utilizes a head less cocking piece. Rust blue is original, and shows handling marks only as does the stock. A great piece of American sporting rifle heritage by one of our finest makers.
