This is a rare 73' Wincester special order rifle with a case colored receiver, a 24" full octagon barrel, chambered in 38-40, and a shotgun butt. The metal shows an overall even grayed patina with hints of blue. The receiver shows a very appealing silvered case color with shadows. There are two streaks down the off side, that are most likely from blood, but there is NO pitting, just a mark in the metal, that I think gives it character. Also, notice the condition and blue of the loading gate. That is an indication of really how much this rifle has been used, not much. The wood has an attractive medium color and fits very nicely. The action functions well and the bore shows nice rifling. This is an honest untouched special order rifle.
