Description:
SOLD...Near Mint Antique Smith & Wesson.32 DA with original box. This is an outstanding example of a Smith & Wesson .32 DA. with the original box. S/N 99985 is well into the antique range for the 4th model. ALL matching of course. This gun is near mint as you can see. The barrel has 98% original nickel finish with just a couple very minor flakes. A spot on the left side of the barrel where it looks like it was lightly cleaned at one time. The frame has 99.9% finish including both front and rear grip straps. The cylinder has 98% with just a couple small flakes on the end of the cylinder. The trigger guard has 98% bright blue with some minor surface crud on the bottom. The barrel latch has no blue and looks like it has flaked off for some reason. It has matching numbers of course so I have no idea why it has no blue remaining. The hammer has 90% bright and vivid case colors. Just faded out on the top around the knurling. The trigger has all the bright vivid case colors on the sides and the back and has just worn a bit on the front. ALL the markings are crisp and sharp.. The mechanics are excellent. Crisp and tight as a new gun in DA and SA mode period. Rock solid barrel to frame fit at the latch and the hinge. NO play or wobbles anywhere on this gun. You will not find a tighter example. The bore is mirror bright with some VERY minor roughness. The chambers are excellent and bright with NO roughness. The grips are excellent with sharp checkering and fine luster and even still has the very small PATD JAN. 29.78 on the bottom left side. This is usually always worn off even on minty guns. The front sight has a small flake of finish missing but never filed on or messed with. ALL the screws and takedown pins look un touched. This gun has seen VERY little use over all these years and would be pretty hard to improve on. The box is in very nice condition with a solid hinge that has no rips or tears. Shows some very minor corner wear as you would expect but has perfect color. It has a green label under the orange label for some reason but BOTH labels are old and original as you can see with a loop. Smith & Wesson might have put the orange label over the green one as some of the boxes are the same but use different labels for different guns. I do not know for sure as this is the first I have seen this so if I am wrong, please correct me on this issue. The box is absolutely original as are both labels. This is a mighty fine little S&W with original box all the way around and at a reasonable price. $20 insured shipping. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. Please check out my other antique firearms while you are here as I might have something of interest to you.
