Description:
Italian flintlock Holster Pistol.  Circa 1740-1750.
Lock marked “L. MARTINONI ”. 8” inch barrel 14 ½” inches overall. Flash pan, left sideplate, trigger guard, butt plate, and flash pan are all iron, German silvered brass escutcheon on back of grip and some inlaid wire. Very early flintlock, lock is early, long stirrup on grips stock and a large iron buttcap, very early style of hammer, pan, iron stirrups on grips, large trigger guard, with a Fleur Delis mark this as an early gun, circa 1740-1750. Wood has some carving on sides behind the lock and has most of wire inlay around tang.
 
 
 
Condition: Metal is clean with almost no rust.  Wood is fine with a beautiful finish. Works fine and locks up at both half cock and full cock. Over all a very nice early piece in Fine condition.
