Description:
Inv. 5290

Japanese Nambu, Type 94, Dated August 1944, Caliber 8 mm, Serial Number 279XX, Inv 5290.

Beauty and the beast.  The condition is really wonderful.  The finish retains about 99% of the original factory blue.  There is almost no blue loss, not even the usual muzzle and edge wear.  There are two very small patches of pin pricks on the right side of the frame, which may even be flaws in the casting, so worst case let's call them pinpricks.  The late war machining is crude at best.  There are areas that have rough machining with no effort to polish before bluing.  The grip straps and cocking knob show no graying or pinpricks whatsoever.  All numbered parts match.  The grips retain all of the original factory finish.  There are a couple small dents on each panel that do not really detract from the pristine condition of the gun.  The grip screws are unmarred.  The bore is super fine, with very sharp and bright rifling.  The gun comes with one correct clued magazine, Serial Number 255.  Rumor has it that this gun belonged to a famous Japanese Kamikazi pilot who survived 23 missions by the name of Chicken Teriyaki.  I have no proof of this.  However, if this is indeed his gun it certainly doesn't look like it ever saw much if any use.     $1095.
