The migulet mechanism predated the flintlock. The 6 & 3/4" barrel is loaded with decorations inscribed, proof marks , gold inlays, barrel bands, and is half octogon in shape and half round. The caliber is .69. All of the metal is bright steel except for the gold inlays. The overall length is 12". The trigger guard is nicely engraved with what might be a family shield or a Coat of Arms. The walnut grip is finely checkered and the wood is in excellent condition. The steel butt is also engraved. The action is strong and the hammer holds on full and half cock. The steel ramrod looks to be original to the pistol. This is a museum quality weapon that has well cared for over close to three hundred years of life has seen little use and would rate EXCELLENT under NRA Standards An opportunity for a discerning collector to acquire something rarely seen outside of a European Museum This is an antique so no FFL is required.
