We are supremely proud to offer this historic first rendition of the Stevens tip up rifle. I had only read about the early brass framed version, but never encountered one until now. This is serial number 11, as found on the barrel and trigger guard thus far. An old Stevens collector told me that number 32 was the lowest previously known, and this gun may be quite a find. I have attached an excerpt from Flayderman's on the subject. Made in the 1870's, it will ship direct to your door. Despite the brass frame, this gun is in remarkable condition. I believe it saw little use, as evidenced by the very clear stampings, intact wood, and good bore. The barrel is just under 26 inches, and appears unaltered. The front sight is a fixed globe, and this gun is an absolute joy to shoot. Chambered in .32 rimfire, you don't have a lot of noise and recoil to spoil the fun. The brass frame, trigger guard, and crescent butt are all brass, aged to a beautiful mustard color and uncleaned in any way. The blue is strong, as is the main spring. Any tip up is valuable today, but this one is really something special. If you are a Stevens collector that wants a gun that no other collector has, then look no further.
