Description:
32” Nitro steel barrels with 2 ¾” chambers, choked .043 right and .042 left. Full length concave matte rib with a single gold bead and a gold line 2” in front of breech. Right barrel is marked L.C. SMITH CROWN GRADE and the left is marked MADE TO ORDER BY THE HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. FULTON, N.Y. The barrels retain 95% original bluing with light scratches on the bottom and top near the muzzle. Bores are bright and shiny. Hunting dog scenes are engraved on both side plates with floral and scroll patterns. The receiver and trigger guard are engraved with a floral and scroll pattern. A gold crown is inlaid on the top lever. The receiver retains 50% case color while the sideplates and forend iron retain little case color. The trigger retains 60% original bluing. This gun has a Hunter One selective mechanical trigger, non-automatic safety and ejectors. The pistol grip stock is point checkered at 22 lines per inch that wraps over the grip. It appears to have been refinished or at least lightly sanded and has numerous light handling marks. It has a hard rubber grip cap and serrated buttplate which has a chip in it at the toe. The buttplate fit it not perfect indicating a possible replacement. The forearm is point checkered at 22 lines per inch and retains 95% original finish with few light handling marks. Length of pull is 14 1/2”, drop at comb is 1 5/8”, drop at heel is 3”. Weight is 8 lbs. Mechanics are excellent.
