Description:
A rare Martini /Enfield made in 1890 A.C. artillery carbine as stamped on the right flat of the receiver.The 21 1/2" barrel is chambered for the .303 Medford caliber which is milder than the .303 caliber of WWI, and has strong rifling , with corrosion down in the grooves from corrosive ammo used during that time. Has about all of it's arsenal blue and may have been arsenal refinished at one time since the lever, and the bottom of the breech block have moderate pitting, under the blue. The wood stocks are excellent and are English walnut. A brass disc in the butt-stock has the markings of 9/95 and 1 (crown) L . Has two sling swivels.This short lever carbine doesn't appear to be a recent import, and isn't encountered very often.
