Gun will not be shipped; personal transfer needed. Payment Types Accepted: Cash, Certified check, Cashier check, Money Order Description: The C26 is the historically first successful semiauto handgun. The receiver is a marvel of machining, very intricate work and costly to make. This one was made by Waffenfabrik Mauser in Oberndorf Neckar (see pic) and may be more than 100 years old. Not all serial numbers match. This piece fires regular 9mm Parabellum/Luger; round nose ammo is a must. The rarity of this gun is that comes with a removable magazine (see pic) instead of the more common fixed one; as such, the last round fired will not keep the action back (open) as for the other model. The spring inside the removable magazine is weak and I could not find a replacement for it. Wolf was not offering it then. The bluing is about 50% but no rust is present, and no scratches mar the surfaces. What you see in the pics is discoloration, not rust. The inside of the barrel is exceptionally clean and sharp (see pic). The sight is optimistically graduated for 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) and is in excellent condition (see pic). The handle is able to receive a stock inside the channel made for it, converting the handgun in a carbine. That is why the 1,000 meters sight. The wood seems to have been replaced and it is in excellent condition. After I bought this C26 I replaced the recoil lug for another original one in better shape, and replaced the recoil spring and the firing pin spring with springs from Wolf. Recently I replaced again the springs with a stronger one. According to Wolf, this one is about 10% heavier. The gun works OK with it. The old lug and springs are included in the sale price. One thing the firing pin does is to make absolutely and totally sure that the primer will go off. The indent left on them is quite deep, as can be seen on the pic. This piece will NOT be shipped. The sale is AS IS, WHERE IS. The gun will be handed over by me to the buyer who will be able to inspect it at that time. There are a couple indoor shooting ranges if the buyer is willing to foot the cost of ammo and range. Buyer must have a CC or acquire a recent background check. Seller assumes no liability for the testing or use of the gun.
