This is a superb quality SXS 12 ga shotgun built by Benedict Winkler and proofed in 1946! Yes, that is correct…1946. It has to be one of his earliest post war guns, and was probably well under way during the war. It is beautifully engraved with ducks on one side and pheasants on the other, and running hare underneath. Rich deep scroll engraving and ejectors too! Barrels are 28 3/8th14” long and are choked full/full. 2 3/4” chambers, and of course, double triggers. Barrels are shiny without any dents or pitting. Wood is solid and the checkering is perfect. LOP is 14", drop and the comb is 1.5", drop at the heel is 3". This is a very handsome and elegant gun made by one of the all time masters.
