Description:
An engraved S&W pre model 27. Serial # S 989xx for dating. No scratches, no rust or pitting. Just a good looking gun that is a collector and still a shooter. Whoever had this gun before me did shoot it but not much. Didn't do anything but leave a little powder burn around the barrel and charge holes. Action, indexing and lock up are all tight. Matt checkering on the top strap is the older very fine cross checking. 28+lpi?? Not sure of the lines per inch. This gun was engraved/blued so long ago that the original bluing is starting to fade around the edges-not from rubbing off but just from age. Same with the trigger and hammer. They are gold plated and most of that has rubbed off. Grips are bonded Ivory. A great older gun.
