Description:
This is a well cared for Gwynn & Campbell Type 1 Carbine manufactured in 1863. Known as the
Grapevine" because of the long serpentine hammer and trigger guard. They are a very unique carbine. These were used extensively by numerous Union Cavalry Units in the Waaaaar Betwixed the States. Especially Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas, Kentucky and Missouri. This one has the early 900 yard, long range sight and a 3 digit serial number. Still showing case colors on the receiver and original blue finish to the barrel. The stock is great with no cracks and a strong cartouche. Worth the investment.
