Description:
Womack was a renowned gunsmith known for his accuracy work and his use of Douglas barrels back in the heyday of American custom gunmaking. Seems he was quite deft at stockwork as well as this custom rifle has a very intricately carved and checkered stock which has some carry wear but no material damage. Medium weight 26" barrel has excellent bore and is marked "Womack". He fitted a Jaeger trigger and a low scope safety as well, and mounted a B&L "Balvar" 2.5-8x tapered reticle in B&L adjustable mounts. Good quality work throughout and quite racy for its day. A classy vintage long range rig for mulies, antelope, coyotes and other medium game.
