Description:
Serial #223227, .303 British, 26” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some trace amounts of freckling within the grooves. The metal of this rifle has retained 50-60% of an armory re-applied matte blue finish with the balance turned plum-brown mixing with mild silvering at the muzzle and along the exposed edges. The receiver has the “RE (in oval)” Remington maker's mark with further “DP” drill purpose markings (repeated on the trigger guard, floorplate, and renumbered bolt). Additionally, there is an import mark on the underside of the barrel at the muzzle. The bolt retains slightly less armory finish with gray fading and freckling on the handle as well as further fading along the bearing surfaces. The walnut stock and handguard have moderate bruises and handling marks throughout, heaviest at the receiver on either side. The volley sights and stock disk have been removed and the handguard is a later replacement in slightly better condition than the stock. The rifle is fitted with a khaki canvassling and is in about very good condition overall. FFL or C&R
