Description:
SALE PENDING This Winchester 62A was built in the last full year of production for this model- 1958.  This Model 62 is of major interest to collectors in that the staggered "Winchester" stamping that may be be seen on the left side of the receiver. As in prewar Model 62s intended for gallery use, some postwar gallery operators requested the Winchester name be stamped on the left side of the receiver.  On postwar Model 62s, this stamping may be seen in two different variations. The first is the standard staggered Winchester rolled on the left side of the receiver in letters about 3/16 of an inch high and approximatley 1 1-2 inches in height. The second variation features these same letters but filled with red paint. This was seldom done except as an advertising tool where Model 62s were used at large shooting galleries.   This special order Model 62 gallery rifle features the plain stamping on the side of the left receiver  in 3/16 high letters. The gallery style triangular magazine loading port was used from 1938 until the end of production in 1959. Looks like this one was lightly used at the shooting galleries. No sales to CA.  Must ship to FFL.
