Description:
This pistol is marked Hopkins & Allen but actually is a Forehand & Wadsworth design. Forehand & Wadsworth was taken over by Hopkins & Allen at the turn of the century. 5-shot top break revolver in 38 S&W. Thes are a double action revolver- kind of. Can be fired in single action or double action. The difference is the "safety" part of it being that the trigger has to be pushed forward like a set trigger. Did they feel this would be a safer gun for police in the event that someone grabbed their weapon? That is my thoughts on it. Everything is smooth. Gun locks up tight. Pivot is tight. 6" bbl is dirty. The F&W marked grips are quite worn with a repaired chip on the bottom. Slightly ill fitting.
