Payment Types Accepted: Money Order, Certified Check Description: This is a strong example of a Martially Marked Colt Single Action Army Revolver in its original 7 1/2" Cavalry Configuration. The serial number is in the 140,000 range and was in the last hundred Single Actions purchased by the US Government in April, 1891. It was inspected by Ronaldo A. Carr as his initials, "RAC", are located on the frame, cylinder, barrel, and his cartouche at the base of the left side of the wooden grip handle. The left grip has the cartouche for the officer in charge of receiving these Colts for the Ordnance, Captain Stanhope English Blunt. The number on this revolver are all matching with the exception of a small typo error on the cylinder. Instead of reading 0269, the 9 was inadvertantly flipped by the Colt workmen and reads 0266...a common mistake as these numbers were applied by hand. Overall Condition is NRA Antique Fine+ with 95% bright original barrel blue, 75% original blue on the cylinder. The case colors on the frame are 50% consisting of 20% bright in protected areas and 30% mottled colors on the more exposed areas.Hammer has strong checkering with 50% faded case colors remaining. Strong markings on the metal throughout. Excellent Screws...many still retaining most of their original blue. Original Grips are in Very Good condition showing a light cleaning at some point in the past. Both inspector cartouches are visible...the left one being Fine while the right is visible but weak in some of the lettering. Small chip top of left grip. Nice example of one of the last Cavalry Model Single Actions purchased by the US Army at the end of the American Frontier.
