VERY EARLY 1881 .38-55 24" OCTAGON RIFLE, #16XXX, MADE 1887, nice unaltered example with excellent wood showing only light handling and good wood to metal fit, mostly gray/brown receiver, barrel and mag retain fine very dark aged blue mixing a little plum/brown, original sights include buckhorn rear and Rocky Mountain blade front sight, lever spring only just a little weak, bore a bit dark with deep rifling and ought to scrub out fine+ to near exc., great caliber, nice appearance
