Early Winchester 20ga. in 2-1/2 length shell
Serial #1378XX 20ga- 2-1/2 '' chamber. If you try to shoot 2-3/4 it will fire but not eject. Gun is 95% Condition/Blue-"as-is" original bluing, etc- probably due to this "short chamber"-all Winchester Model 12-20ga-- were 2-3/4 after 1927.
The barrel Length- 25'' marked as Modified- but probably is Skeet- and Right frame has field scratch- probably from hunt vest....! Neat Quail Gun.

History: "The Model 12 20ga. was the first model 12. Introduced in 1912, and from 1912-1927 it was chambered for the 2 1/2" shells, the Model 12 16ga. was introduced in 1914 and was produced from 1914-1927 chambered for the 2 9/16" shell.
