Description:
Lefever EE Grade 12 Gauge SxS  **REDUCED PRICE**
BEAUTIFUL DAMASCUS, MIRROR BORES, 1905

General Specs: Lefever, Year 1905, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 9oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 49685

Most who pursue American doubles are aware that Lefever Arms Co. of Syracuse, N.Y. produced very elegant shotguns.  The engraving is better than most in its tasteful application, the frames were ornately sculpted and shaped, and the workmanship overall was superior to the competition of the day.  With the last Lefever being produced in 1919, Lefever produced relatively few guns; in the range of 50.000 or so in all grades and gauges, most being lower grade guns.  Mr. Elliot’s book “Uncle Dan Lefever— Master Gunmaker” notes there were few high grade Lefevers produced, and most gunners that search for fine American vintage double guns are aware that there are few Lefever EE Grade guns ever seen for sale, especially in great original condition.  MOST IMPORTANTLY, THIS LEFEVER, SN49685 MADE IN 1905, RETAINS PLENTY OF  FACTORY ORIGINAL CASE COLORS.  A Lefever EE Grade 12ga. is not a rare gun, but in this condition it is not often seen.  The EE Grade is high enough to show Lefever elegance in the engraving, wood figure, and fit/finish.  Sporting 30" fine damascus barrels with mirror bores choked IC/F, with a minimum barrel wall thickness of 27 thou, ejectors that are strong and timed, and a gorgeous well figured walnut stock, she is ready to take waterfowl, upland, or clays for you with high style.  This is a fine, investment quality Lefever that will always be a highly sought after gun.
