Description:
The serial number is stamped on the right side of the frame. The lower left side of the frame is marked "MERIDEN MAN'FG. CO./MERIDEN, CONN." and the left side of the breech is marked "KENTUCKY". The patent marking: "TRIPLETT & SCOTT/ATENT DEC. 6, 1864" is marked on the upper receiver tang. Mounted with a smooth oil finished walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a steel carbine buttplate and a sling swivel mounted on the heel and toe.
