Good case colors remain on the lever. The colors on the frame have toned slightly. Grips are beautiful burled walnut. The back strap has a Sam Colt presentation. The presentation read “L. Cole Esq with Colonel Colt’s compliments” S. Cole was Silas Ebeneezer Cole who was a Canadian attorney who Colt hired as a patent attorney. This gun is a deluxe ebony case. The case very fine accessories along with 3 very nice skin packets. Under the embossed compartment lid is a mushroom head cleaning rod. This gun came out of the famous Robert Pershing collection of Colts. Mr. Pershing was a very astute collector who authored a number of articles on his research.
