Description:
This Ross 1905 bayonet has a 6-10 production date stamped on pommel with C broad arrow and 08 markings. Bright blade shows light stains, it still has factory edge. The grips show the History of this bayonet and that it was issued to 3 WW1 C.E.F. units and one pre WW2 Corps. The left panel show issue to the fighting 25th out of Halifax that was formed in March of 1915 . The issue mark shows 3/15 and struck off. Secondly issued to 248' C.E.F. out of Owen Sound organized in 1915 with a strength of 259 men (struck off). The right is marked I 244 from Montreal (Kitchener's Own) formed in 1916 with 604 men. This piece was reissued in 1938 to the C.O.T.C. (Canadian Officer Training Corp). The bayonet comes in a 1916 dated scabbard marked R.R.C., C broad arrow and MK II An excellent condition and variation.
