Has 30" oct to round medium heavy bblin 38-55. Frame, lever and Swiss butt are nickel plated. Bbl is blue. Nearly all metal finish remains with the exception of light wear on the bottom of the bbl. Bbl blue is so nice that it was most likely redone by a master? Sharp edges on the octagons and everything looks good. Possibly a Pope bbl? Only marking on the bbl is "2064" on the bottom of the bbl. The nickel plating also looks very good but this also is possibly redone? Beautiful wood in excellent condition. Forearm has the classical horn tip. Buttstock is also in excellent condition. A few handling marks and one light crack on the right side coming off the frame. All wood is present and solid. Another excellent feature is the VG+ bore. Mr. Farrow was a target shooter in the late 1800's and had an association with the Marlin Firearms Co. He was responsible for upgrading and improving the Marlin Ballards. He must of been pretty serious at his endeavors since he built his own rifle for competition. This rifle is beyond rare. I do not believe we have ever had another one in the shop.
