Original ornate rear sight and windage front sight. Double set triggers. Game scene engraved lock. Finely carved walnut full length stock with original sliding cover patch box which is often lost. Beautifully carved butt particularly about the patch box. Forend with fine fluted molding along the ramrod channel. Bone forend cap and bone terminals on the patch box cover. Brass trigger guard, open work side plate and ramrod pipes. Mother of pearl inlay on cheek rest engraved with a “RUNNING STAG”. All original and in fine condition with the original plum patina on the barrel. Stock with the original finish and excellent with an old repaired hairline just forward of the lock and side plate. Extra nice example of the mid to late 1600’s. Original ramrod and even has the original swivel. SOLD Antique: Yes |
