KREUTLE IN MUNDERKINGEN. Weight 24 pounds. 57” o/a with 40” octagon .62 caliber rifled barrel signed on silver inlay “IOS KREUTLE A MUNDERKINGEN”. Massive 10” lock with ornate cock finial. Double set triggers. Walnut stock with a flat base forend with brass mounts for mounting on a platform. Openwork brass stock inlays and mother of pearl “POINTS OF COMPASS” cheek rest inlay. Brass trigger guard and mounts. Very good overall and lock in working order. Stock with minor loss about the upper rear of the lock. Sliding patch box cover lost and replaced with a simple fitted sliding walnut panel. Rarely seen and of the type used at fortified positions during the late 1600’s.
