SOLD! Civil War war Horse 1852 Sharps Slant Breech carbine that surfaced near Uvalde Texas with an 1852 Colt Pocket Colt and other Confederate items. Has a 21 inch barrel and the comma shaped lever key retaining pin. Some of the C. Sharps Patent is visible on the right side lockplate but not all. See photos. Most all of the Sharps marking on top of the barrel tang is visible as is the SN 5053. 1853 to 1855 production. Marking also visible on the top of the barrel. Barrel is a dark patina with very light pitting in a couple of areas. Lock plate has blotched patina. Light pitting on hammer. Brass butt plate, patch box and barrel band all have uncleaned patina. Breech block and loading lever has light rust and some pitting. Bore has deep rifling but has some light pitting. Cosmetic crack on neck right side above the lock plate. Small area of wood missing from toe. Missing screw on forearm underneath. Rotating portion of Beaver tail sight is Missing. Action works. Carbine ring is a replacement. Wood stock is solid with normal dings for a weapon of this age. Mid grade rare 1852 Slant Breech Sharps Carbine that saw the elephant and is very affordable.
