Description:
Serial #486572, .30-06, 26” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has hints of freckling just starting to form within the grooves. This is a splendid rifle with 8-18 dated barrel that has retained 97-98% of the original brushed blue finish on the receiver, barrel, bands, and trigger guard assembly, while the all-correct bolt has silvering and gray fading present along the bearing surfaces. All of the components have the correct “R” marking with a further crisp double-struck “R” on the forend tip. The walnut stock has a few very minor handling marks and surface blemishes scattered about its original military oil finish with crisp eagle head armory stamp on the underside of the wrist. The handguard likewise is in excellent condition and the buttplate, which retains the original vivid color case-hardening on the toe screw, has most of its original blue remaining. This is an exceptionally nice example of an original World War I Remington Enfield and is in excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
