A collectors dream: beautiful guaranteed ORIGINAL WW I Colt M1911 .45 ACP Army issue pistol in 99 % condition. All US Army and Colt markings sharp. Has the earlier commercial Colt Blue finish - not the later "Army Black." The walnut "Diamond" grips are pefect, show no wear, with the correct number of lines cut into the wood. Bore is bright. Has all Original Colt parts ( no post- WW I reworking or barrell replacement). Serial number - 267928 - on the right side of the frame. All markings sharp and readable. Inspector's cartouche (Lt. Col. John M. Gilbert) is on left side of frame , just behind trigger. All screws are perfect, the gun is tight, with strong springs. NO rattles. Perfect functioning. Face of bolt shows no signs of cartridge wear. Has the correct lanyard "eye" on the rear of the butt, just behind magazine well. Comes with two-tone unmarked (correct) magazine, AND an original unissued WW I pistol lanyard.
The best M1911 US Army Colt pistol I have ever seen - would be very difficult indeed to improve on. Priced fairly for the discerning Collector.
