Description:
1927 Colt Pre-Woodsman .22 Caliber. This pistol has been in the same family since it was purchased in 1927.
The gun is in near new condition and comes with the original owners manual, additional magazine and the original
main spring housing and springs. Although converted over to allow the use of high speed ammunition the original, numbered to the gun, mainspring housing and springs are housed in the original Colt envelope the coversion kit came in. Included in the envelope is the orignal directions explaining how to install the conversion kit. These conversion kits are quite rare and valuable themselves. I am leaving it converted assuming the new owner may want to shoot the pistol with
modern ammunition. Although fired this pistol remains in 99++ condition with no muzzle wear and the blued finish at the crown of the barrel retains all its blue finish as well. The grips are free of cracks and are in excellent condition with some normal flattening of the points. The family has kept this Colt neatly housed in a little desk, drawer like, box. Inside of the lid of the box there are dates beginning in the early 50's as to when the gun was oiled.
Nice little piece of history and an excellent example of the Colt Pre-Woodsman.
