Description:

Jules Thonon, Belgium made 12 gauge best sidelock ejector SxS shotgun.  A finely made sidelock with 2 under lug locks, a cross bolt and side clips.  29” solid rib barrels each have .739” bore diameter barrels and both are choke IC/Mod; each barrel has a nominal wall thickness of .028” which is well within proof.  I think this gun was made in the early 1920’s and it does have factory 2 ¾” chambers.  Just into the forcing cones there is some pitting in the very thick part of the barrels; not good looking but certainly not an issue in shooting!  Double triggers, intercepting sears, and very finely engraved with a delicate rose and scroll pattern, non-automatic safety.  Nicely grained French walnut; 14 3/8” LOP over factory butt plate, 1 5/8” DAC and 2 1/2” DAH with fairly significant RH cast of 3/8” at heel and ½” at the toe.  The stock has assortment of dings and dents but all in all it is in very good shape.  The forearm on the other hand is dark and the checkering is smooth but it fits well to the FE iron and the forward release button.  There is a sling swivel mounted to the bottom of the barrel rib and also in the buttstock.  Neat old gun.  Weighs a mere 6 lbs. 15 oz.
